JEANNEAU SUN ODYSSEY 479

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 479 is an award winning yacht built to go places.

This modern fast cruiser from the pen of Philipe Briand is simply stunning.

Long flat decks, sleek coach roof with flush hatches and twin helms combine to make for a yacht that demands attention.

241012_0834-BD_dThe Jeanneau 479 boasts all the Sun Odyssey trade marks including large bathing platform, twin helms with winches brought all the way back for safe short or single handed sailing, generous cockpit table and folding companionway doors make a comfortable practical place to sail and relax on board.

The 479 is a big boat but it’s also an easy boat to handle.  The optional bow thruster and 360′ docking make it easy to manage under power, while the single line reefing or in mast furling mainsail with all lines led back to the cockpit and furling head sails allow short handed sailing under complete control from the safety of the cock pit.

479 sailing

The Sun Odyssey 479 is a dream boat to sail.  She carries her sail plan well and is light and responsive.  In light winds she picks up well and is easily driven as the wind increases the modern ‘hard chine hull’ and bulb fin keel keep her tracking fast and riding the waves with competent ease.

A range of cockpit storage and a large sail locker takes care of all the boats equipment with room to spare for diving cylinders, bikes and much more.

Below decks the first impressions are of light and space.
